Topic: Programmable Hottop: can you change the starting temperature? (5 msgs / 118 lines)
1) From: MichaelB
The digital model always preheats (or precools) to 163 before starting, so
you have to start the roast and wait if you want to add beans at a higher
starting temperature than that. Does the programmable model allow a higher
start setting? Is it programmable? I've read the user manual and it doesn't
say. From what it does say I would guess the answer is No. But one can
hope...

This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
No same thing it beeps at 163 and cools down to there. The advantage is =
you can speed up or slow down ramps to target temps.

Unless I am using mine wrong, the answer is no.

Michael, it isn't, but that's not a big deal. I always add my beans at =
250
degrees, about a minute and a half after the beeps. One nice thing about =
the
programmable is the temperature reading is always there. It would be =
nice if
you could program start temp and beeps too, maybe next firmware release =
:-)

Hey DJ. That is favorite thing about the programable. That would not
be enough to make me upgrade if that were the only thing. But it is a
great feature.
