I am very close to ordering one of the 2 or 3 orders from SM I can manage to
get shipped to Denmark each year.
As I remember it march and even february are the months where the colombians
should arrive, but do I remember wrong or has something strange happened to
the colombians this year?
There is only one colombian on the current list of sm coffees.

Actually, there are two in there right now.
Organic Nariño - San Lorenzo •

Both look pretty good, too.

I have had mixed feelings about recent samples. Right now is a little
early for the Hulias, and a little late for the northern coffees,
like Bucaramanga. I had one coffee with a great story behind it, and
I really wanted it to be good. It was being refered to as the "mens
coffee". It is basically a farm that was set up for j.d. boys/young
men from a town called Pital in the south. they learn to work the
farm and how to make a good product - its a nice contrast to a coffee
that just came in (on the list tomorrow), a rwanda womens coop
coffee, an all woman-run part of the Rushahi cooperative washing
station. Anyway, i thought it would be so funny to have a womens
coffee and a mens coffee, but the later just didn't quite cut it on
the cupping table, whereas the womans coffee was outstanding. what
can we infer from this? ;-0
well, if i had to count all the coffees i reject that have great
stories behind them .... but my perspective is (as far as sweet
marias goes), the story isnt worth telling unless the cup is
exemplary. in another context, maybe that would be reversed...

Both of the Cup of Exellence offerings were outstanding. Too bad you didn't
pick up on them. I enjoyed my first roast of the five pounder so much, I am
not going to be sharing it with my kids at school. They are just going to
have to come and visit Dad if they want a cup! Yes it is that good.
