Topic: First Taste of Gesha.. (10 msgs / 237 lines)
1) From: Lynne Biziewski
I finally did it - I decided to ignore my fear-of-failure & roasted my
Gesha. Thanks so much, Llinda - (this was part of my winnings from last
year). Oops, I mean, thank you thank you Lucky, the
Wonder-Cat-Who-Chose-Me-As-The-Winner (note to self, get that promised
bribe.. I mean truckload.. of mackerel..up to Lucky..)
Roasted it two days ago, and after reviewing the archives to remind myself
how long I should rest it - general opinion was anywhere from 1 day to 7
days rest. Decided that I needed to try the first cup today, and although I
think it needs more of a rest, I must say - this is a sweet coffee.
Interesting appearance - the beans are larger than others I've roasted - and
much more 'perfect' looking. While I was roasting it, I noticed just how
much like peanuts it resembled at one point. Fortunately, the brew (in my
French Press) doesn't taste like peanuts! ; > } )
Will treat myself to another cup tomorrow, even though this is my Easter
dinner roast - cuz it'll be my b-day tomorrow. Have too much stress to think
about celebrating the day - but a good cup of brew is always a treat for me!

Happy Birthday, Lynne! And let us know how the Gesha changes as it
rests.

Thank you. Difficult time right now - don't really feel like celebrating
anything right now... Thanks guys, I really appreciate it.

Ditto the happy b-day. I'll be roasting Gesha for next weekend. My b-day is
a day dreaded by many, Income Tax day April 15th!
