This is Cuisinart's answer to the StirCrazy. I saw one in the thrift
shop and played around with it some. It seemed to get hot pretty
quickly, but I'm wondering if it can get up to the 500F range needed
for roasting. This item seems much easier to mod than the SC because
the popping plate, which contains the stirring rods, just snaps
off....No more having to drill out the shaft. I think this might be a
good one for you heat gun folks. The top is an inverted bucket, which
could be cut so that it could hold the beans in while you point your
HG onto it...Hopefully, the plastic could withstand the heat of the
HG. Otherwise, you might have to fashion a piece of metal flashing to
substitute for the top...
They want $13 in the thrift shop. If it were below $5, I might have
tried it at home but I have far too many coffee-related items as it is... :-)
