Topic: Smoky Kona Bourbon shot? (39 lines)
1) From: miKe mcKoffee
Felt like a straight shot so in the vein of the up coming PNWG V "espresso
blending bean bar" perused the rest ready beans on hand. Just enough "Old
Brown" left for a smoky deep note, still Brazil YB for a great smooth base,
but didn't feel like top notes from the Quatemala "Blue Queztal" Bourbon.
(Don't get me wrong, a very good smooth mellow Quat' with a nice "dance",
but wanted something different.) Well there's that Sumatra Volkopi but no,
that'd be a totally different taste direction than looking for. Too bad last
of roast Gesha went bye-bye this morning, now that might have rocked. Hey,
what about that City+ Rancho Aloha Kona? Why not! (All these 1/2# roasts
about gone, now 9 days vac jarred post roast, and all will be gone
tomorrow.)
So a 20:40:40 blend respectively went in for the grind. (Didn't bother with
the scale this time so ratio approximate, which I expect may be more the
PNWG V modus operundi, but maybe not:-) Pulled shot at 201f, maybe a wee bit
slow normale ~2oz pull stopping at 29sec. (Inc. 3sec lines pressure
pre-infusion). Beautiful shot, wonderful aroma, great touch of smoky full
smooth taste with a bit of Kona acidity sparkle, and linger still yummy as I
type! That one worked:-)

first not know. And in knowing know I know not. Each Personal enlightenment
found exploring the many divergent foot steps of Those who have gone before.
