I have been looking at the hot top and the gene café, any plus's or =
minus's
to one or the other? I drink about 3 pots of drip a day so I roast a =
good
bit. I fear I am going to wear out my IR2 early, I plan on upgrading it =
and
giving it to my boss who is hooked on home roast now :) looking for
opinions and thoughts

Better cooling on Hot top, prices coming down, ability to upgrade within the
hot top. Gene is closed ended.

Hi Patrick,
Hoping you get that new roaster! At 3 pots a day, I am expecting the
roaster will last your whole lifetime. I have always felt a special
attachment to you. Can you make sure I am listed in your will for the new
roaster?
Have a pot on me too!
Thanks,
Brett

Hi Patrick,
I've never used a Hot Top or Gene, but I have heard good things about them.
However for the amount of coffee you're brewing per day, you might want to
consider going for an RK. I recently put mine together and I couldn't be
happier. The four pound batch size is very convenient too. Just my opinion.

As the first to ask your in :) most of my friends ask about the guns =
and
which one they want when I croke. But seeing as my wife likes to shoot =
and
d0oes not like the coffee too much I think you have a good shot at the
roaster :)

I have thought about doing the drum roasting on the pit. If there is =
anyone
in the Dallas area that has one that would let me see it (I will =
provide
the coffee) let me know. That might be the option I am looking for =
since I
roast for several friends now.

Patrick,
I'm not in Dallas and I don't have an RK drum. But I do live=
in San Antonio and have a custom built Ice Bucket Roaster that I would be =
happy to demonstrate for you when you are in SA.
