Topic: usps priority and flatrate, new coffees (4 msgs / 80 lines)

hi all - trying to clean up a couple bleary-eyed mistakes from last
night. I misconfigured the buttons to add Aged Sumatra to the
shopping cart. I fixed it, but if you clicked on it before now, you
would have added Zimbabwe Dandoni to your cart. Just an FYI.
Coming next week: Panama Carmen Estate 1800+ meters, El Salvador Pulp
Natural San Emilio, a fantastic wet process Yirgacheffe (we will be
offering 2 lots then, both quite remarkable).
USPS: as you know, they are a nightmare, and on the backend of their
new rate categories it is even worse. Their new API is very slow, so
when you check out it takes forever to pull in the rate.
USPS Flat Rate: we took out the "Hold for Harvey" secret method
because now we can show Flat Rate as an option. The problem is that
we can't limit the pounds of coffee you put in a flat rate box, but
as you know the limit is 12 Lbs. of green coffee. So as of now, you
need to avoid going over 12 or we simply can't ship it, have to email
you, delays ... delays.
Now the problem is that USPS Priority Mail (not flat rate) is totally
off in it's calculations when you add more than 1 type of item to a
cart. We doubt anyone will be selecting it, because the rate is so
ridiculously high, but be assured that if you did, we would NOT
charge you that. We would adjust it to our usual, which is .80 over
exact cost which covers the weight of the box and packing materials.
We are working on this. The international flat rate for 12 lbs green
coffee seems to be calculating okay.
UPS is working fine.

Thanks for the fix. FYI the 2lb Rwanda Bourbon wasn't working a few minutes
ago when I tried to order a 2lb bag.
Cheer up, the bleary eyed stupor works off around the time first grade
starts 8^)

I am going to miss feeling like an insider knowing your (old) mail mans name
and having an exclusive mail option. Back to being average joe ordering
Jared.
