Topic: Texas homeroaster on RFDTV (4 msgs / 63 lines)
1) From: Ken Mary
A few weeks ago, Texas Country Reporter highlighted a homeroaster from
Texas, Jonathan Flynn. He uses a George Foreman with an attached 500 watt
halogen lamp and standard rotisserie wire basket. He claims to be able to
roast 3 pound batches but the program showed him dumping what appeared to be
about one pound into his cooler. He roasts about 75 pounds per week and
sells to local stores and restaurants. His "other duties" are paramedic and
firefighter. One embarassing story, he had a roaster fire in his garage.
After he extinguished it, his fellow firefighters arrived on scene,
apparently called by a neighbor.

Interesting - sounds exactly like the Behmor roaster. I like RFDTV -
maria and I especially like the Big Joe Polka Show

I'm in Quito, Ecuador this week and set the DVR to record the Big Joe Polka
Show while I'm gone. While here, I did see a Probat in a local store near
the presidential palace. I speak very little spanish, but through a
translator he said they roast exclusively Ecuadorian coffee. I got a pound
to take home and try. Guess I'll have a cup Saturday night when I get home -
while watching Big Joe - and here we go.
