A series of analytic seives would do the trick, but that's darned expensive.
The Bunn commercial grinder I recently obtained -- one of those huge
restaurant things -- is amazingly better than either my SMP or KAP
(the latter is a bad grinder anyway, whereas the former is pretty
good). The grind consistency reminds me of a can of Folgers.
A subjective test was the first sign of good things with this grinder.
Looking at the grind, pawing through it and seeing no fines adhering
to the container I ground into, pinching it between fingers and
watching as tactile feedback also confirmed the grind consistency --
it's not scientific, but the subjective judgment is certainly adequate
for a "dag -- this is better than that" kind of judgment.
