Take coffee if you want but also plenty of plain WATER.
I had a problem a few days ago with dehydration. With my reduced body
weight, I apparently cannot hold much water in my tissues. I should have
known to pre-hydrate, but did not. During some not very hard work in the sun
and temp in the mid 80's, my pulse rate went to 115. I could still work and
suffered no symptoms, but had to take frequent rest periods to drink and let
my pulse decline. In the space of about 4 hours I drank a full 64 oz bottle
of water. After that my pulse fell to the low 90's and later at home to my
normal 70's. I take my Omron wrist bp monitor wherever I go. During the
entire time, my bp was normal, never going more than a few points above or
below 120/70. And NO DRUGS!
