I found today that Google maps has a new street view feature for a few
cities in the US. With this feature you can zoom in all the way in to read
street parking signs from street level. Oakland is one of the cities but
Sweetmarias *1115 21st Street Oakland CA 94607 *is about 7 blocks out of
what they currently cover. Looks like a good time to upgrade any signs or
better yet to place some espresso monkeys, skunks and the puro scuro bat out
to be filmed. There has got to be some way to have fun with this new
program. Jared*

wow, such clear resolution that you can read the license plate numbers
of cars! it would be fun to plant easter eggs for everyone to search
for around Sweetmarias...

you know, parts of our area are a bit edgy - i am sure there are a
few cars out there whose owners really, really don't want their
plates read.
sometimes google scares me, and i am not given to paranoia. neurosis
yes, paranoia no. will the day come when we can see how well our hair
is parted by looking at google? check out the spread on our bald spot?

I saw that. Now picture this up and coming technology... go ahead...
I'll wait... check it out then come back:
Combined with this google streets view.... wow. Think of wonderful
things we could do then! Tom could ensure that we were all grinding
his beans properly. In fact, he could change his selling model to one
like a software model. He could license us the beans to use. As long
as they were ground properly, and brewed to specs... we'd have to
click agree or disagree when placing our orders.
Imagine... taking your beans... burning them to a coal chambered oily
ash.... drop them in a $20 grinder... then this moth comes and lands
on your shoulder...
You know what you did wrong. And Tom knows too. That's an extra buck
a pound for you buddy on your next order.

I will take mine in the new teflon style. Less crap will stick to it
then. I love the world becoming more public, open and more personal.
Without it I would have never found sweetmarias, home roasting or all you
nice people. Jared

Since you mentioned it .... I am kinda curious about what Tom's shitter
looks like. I mean that must be one industrial shitter considering all
the coffee consumed in that place.

They don't consume much coffee- they're cuppers. They expectorate coffee.
I could do that too, especially with Sphincter Coffee! No ring around the
Ivories for this guy. I'd rather not detour the Carbon Cycle.
