I've had such a steady diet of really good coffee over the years that I
usually don't make too much noise when I come across some more good beans.
I roasted the first load from a 10 lb. batch of this Nicaragua Esteli
yesterday, dumping at a city roast (436 on temp readout, for what its
worth), completely through 1st in any event, and just a minute or two sooner
than I usually dump (total roast time 14:50). The aroma of the cooled beans
was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL......a honey/molasses with fruited undernote that
made me want to grab a spoon and begin eating. I did munch a few, but held
off on brewing until this AM. An excellent cup at 12 hours post roast,
although still a bit bright. I believe that it will "mature" into an
exceptional batch. Hope I can repeat the roast. I am so glad I bought a
few pounds of this bean. I believe its going to be a favorite.
Has anyone else tried it. I would be interested in hearing about your
results.
Thanks
Josh
