Topic: Liquid Amber and Classic Italian run out... (6 msgs / 95 lines)
1) From: Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee
For the first time in 5 years I have to pull the Liquid Amber and the
Classic Italian blends from the site. As you know, to keep a blend at
its best, and true to it's intended cup character, I have to change
the coffees as we go through the season. I have mainstay coffees, and
a good percentage are ones we offer on the list ... like we use the
excellent Elephant mark Monsooned in the Liquid Amber. Usually there
is a couple that I buy just for the blend. But the right kind of
robusta for these 2 blends has eluded me lately. I mean, I can buy
lots of well-prepped specialty-level robusta but i need a certain cup
character that few robusta can deliver. Everything I have cupped has
been astringent, leaving a very dry, harsh finish. So until I find
the right coffee, I can't mix these two blends right. I have some new
samples from a broker in England that are coming soon, so that might
do the trick.

As usual for SM and way cool IMO. A "business" choosing to be out of stock
rather than offer sub par quality.

While I applaud the quality angle, that will not stop my wife for killing me
for poor stash planning - she loves the Liquid Amber!

Just think: If you really don't like the LA, you ordered well.
Why would you make a selection of something you wouldn't like?
Why would you expect to find something like that at Sweet Maria's?

Not a promising start with Mensa-

Floyd,
I just got my first order of Liquid Amber and love it. I'm sorry I haven't ordered it before.
Gee, I'd hate to see you leave the list because your wife killed you Hmmm, whatwould I be willing to part with my
Liquid Amber for?
