1) From: Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee
I haven't finished, but started to pull together a few comments about
the Behmor 1600. ***It is not finished, no real hard info on the page
yet, more coming soon. No real news on availability, or even what the
final machine will be like, but i felt like I need to start putting
something out there more informative than they hype surrounding this
machine. I know it suits some people to try to create customer
excitement, to do some direct marketing, put the machine in the hands
of a few for feedback, etc. I have no problem with it at all, I guess
its more my style to take a long time to test something, and try to
be critical of it, not all polyanna-ish (if thats a term). The
potential is here, but I have a lot of ???s
here is a link:http://www.sweetmarias.com/behmor_first_look.htmli look forward to comments, especially if anyone gets one of these
for PNWG (Mike - that's you!)

Thanks Tom. I am keeping various body parts crossed in hopes of
seeing one this weekend at the gathering. It will definitely get a
workout and feed back should that occur.

I've done I all could to make it happen. May have tracking number tomorrow
but it's gonna be cutting it close! If signature is required to receive we
may be sunk unless can be picked-up Saturday. Unfortunately didn't think of
receving signature requirements in discussions with Joe. Here's a cut &
paste of email from Joe yesterday:
" I'm still in China and have just finished testing various units... I'm now
satisifed enough to begin production. With that said I'v asked they ship a
roaster directly to you. The roaster worked extremly well in our tests here
and should be with you by Friday.

I'll be leaving shortly for Hong Kong then leave from there in the morning
which should put me home sometime Wednesday afternoon.

By then I should have a tracking number for the shipment. As to me getting
there. I've got more meetings with Ronco on Thursday and it'll all depend on
what happens from that meeting."
FWIW 20# of pork be down taking a two day bath in Hawaiian brine of sea
salt, good soy, Maui sugar in the raw, ginger root, garlic cloves, allspice,
thyme, cracked pepper, onion, sweet red pepper, orange rinds and pineapple
cores. Since needed the pineapple cores for the brine just finished making
the fruit salad too. Of course fresh pineapples (scored the best I've had
since being in Hawaii!), Tuscan cantelope (faux mango:-), valencia oranges,
Asian pears and a dusting of raw dried shredded unsweetened coconut. But
discovered don't have enough butchers twine on hand for all the pork banana
leaf wrapping that'll happen early Saturday morning so yet another trip to
the store... Though may just try a loose banana leaf wrap untied this kalua
pork cook.
Gotta go, more to do before crashing for the night...
