i laughed long and hard over this - and i hate sweet maria's too! i
mean it's a great thing and all but if most of you have the home
roasting bug, i have the untreatable full blown coffee virus! I never
stop thinking about it. so we are all in the same boat, happy in our
i remember in art school i was so poor, and was able for a brief
period to forget everything i learned in my early coffee career (cafe
manager and world's worst barista) and regress to drinking Cafe
Bustelo which you buy in a brick pack in chigago. it could NOT be
consumed without cream. And drinking it was more like flogging
yourself than enjoyment. Now that's misery too. So i guess I choose
this, constant obsessiveness with coffee quality, rather than that.
But now I must go roast another 14 samples that came in yesterday
(poor me) for cupping late this PM and Monday AM (poor me) and finish
my review of the new bodum drip brewers, perhaps brew a couple more
pots using Guat CoE samples (poor me), while Maria and I trade off on
watching Ben, who now has a nursery right in the office with us.
Okay, This is a damn good job!!!
