Topic: ARRL Field Day and Coffee (6 msgs / 103 lines)
1) From: Bob
Starting tomorrow, thousands of amateur radio operators will disperse to
places far and wide and try to make as many contacts as humanly possible
in a 24 hour period.
At the Bloomington Civic Plaza in Bloomington Minnesota (way out in the
first ring suburbs), I will be supplying coffee for the 24 hour period.
I have four types planned.
1. Ethiopia Sidamo
2. Sumatra Blue Lintong
3. India Mysore Nuggets
4. Panama Carmen Estate 1800 meters
These people are in desperate need of good coffee. The stuff that was
supplied during the class the club held last April was horrible. I am on
a mission!

Compared to the stuff I was brewing for the club meets, field days and
Hamfests, (we still had 11m) your brews might be distracting.
EGAD- how do you plan to keep up after the first few people have some of
your coffee?
Now, I don't even have to worry about the code, so no more excuses why I
don't get my ticket again.

It's over!
Had to refill 6 times each. The TechniVorm was on the generator and we
pounded through the night and earlier today. Seven people at the club
vowed never to drink store bought coffee again. The Panama was very popular.
Worked 20 and 40 meters most of the night with my son who also logged
and made contacts.
I think I am in charge of the coffee from now on, a task I will gladly
administer.
Go for my General test next month and I have a HF rig sitting next to
the desk.
Yeehaa!

Good for you Bob! Getting your ham license is well worthwhile and extremely
inexpensive. I have been licensed for 47 years now. I operate from HF to 24GHz.
