Okay, I know this has nothing to do about roasting. And it's really not even
a grinder topic. I'm not even seeking advice, just curiosity. I have a Rocky
Grinder (with doser). I grind my coffee, no problem. I then begin the
dosing, ping, ping, ping..those of you that know this model will understand
what I'm describing...and then my small, quite, generally laid back Sheltie
dog tries to attack the grinder. I mean with everything she's got, true
attack mode. At times it takes two of us to hold her back while one
completes the dosing. It's the ping, ping, ping. On the one hand it's
hilarious. On the other I'm wondering if it's because of the pitch and it is
creating pain. I started putting the dog outside before beginning the
ritual. But as soon as I begin dosing, the dog is throwing herself against
the kitchen door like a rabid beast. Anyone one else have a dog that hates
the Rocky? PS. Nothing on Google.

Isn't this the kind of thing that you tube was made for?
(Sorry I don'=
t have any good advice).
Maybe if you change out the spring on the b=
ottom (doser pawl) that might make it quieter somehow but I sincerely doubt=
 it.

It is probably the pitch of the "ping" and every dog will be slightly different and respond differently. P.S.
did you search the archive?

Thanks. It is funny, it definitely wakes you up, let's the neighbors know
when I'm making a brew, and the dog gets a work out. Like I said, not even
looking for advice, just wondering if others had dogs with similar reactions
or if it's just my dog that has issues with Rocky.

Maybe if you change out the spring on the bottom (doser pawl) that might
make it quieter somehow but I sincerely doubt it.

Can you say 'trauma trigger'? OK, it's the therapist coming out in me.
I think we do need to see video though.
Maybe the pooch is mad because you get all the coffee.

Well, I don't have a Rocky - one of my dogs acts that way with the vacuum
cleaner, but that's not at all
unusual... I agree with Brentley - this is something that you should tape &
put on Youtube. Please -
I need a laugh!! (although just picturing this has made my day)
