Topic: Green must-haves? (7 msgs / 151 lines)
1) From: Paul Martin
While waiting for the new shipment of Kenyans to be posted to SM, I'm trying
to put together my second order. Just curious as to any must-haves, either
new or old favorites you always order? Thanks!

Paul,
Most things cycle through, but the Moka Kadir blend every time!

Yup, that is my go-to bean. Getting my greens, unless I pony up for
airmail, takes about a month. And somehow, the packages that come by
plane always seem to have broken bags. I sometimes cut it a bit close to
the wire. I always have a good supply of MK in reserve these days.
Heaven forbid I might have to buy beans someone else has roasted ;).

Considering my tendency to over-stash, running out of greens isn't likely
for me. But if I do, I'm luckier than most in that Jittery Joe's (local
roaster / coffee shops) roastmaster has offered to sell me greens if I need
them. I've never tried his, because I like SM too much (as evidenced by my
90+ lbs stash), but it's comforting to know they're there.

Whatever you do will be insignificant, but it is very important that you do
it.

Paul,
Of the one's I've tried so far:
Guatemal Fraijanes - Finca Agua Tibia - a crowd please that everyone
calls "smooth"
Brazil FTO Dry-Process Poco Fundo - intense chocolate with some rustic
fruit @ FC+
Brazil Screen-Dried Moreninha Formosa - intense chocolate and heavy body @ FC+
India Mysore Nuggets Extra Bold - people at work ask for this by name
Java Government Estate Pancoer - I like the Javas ...
Sumatra Classic Mandeling - reference previous email about this coffee
Sumatra 19+ TP - Lake Tawar - I liked this so much that I ordered more
Hope this helps ...
Eddie

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. I may have to give up waiting on the
Kenya and just order. My stash has dwindled down to nothing and I'm
drinking some charred beans from the mermaid. 8^o
