I'm not seeing the flat rate option either, with 12 1-lb bags in my cart and nothing else. I even tried removing three bags (9 lbs left) and the option still did not show up. But if I put a single 10-lb bag and a single 2-lb bag in there, the flat rate option shows up. So the problem is with one-pounders -- maybe there's a limit on the number of items that can be in the cart? Also, we used to be able to order bags along with 12lbs of beans in a flat rate box -- is that not going to be allowed anymore?
I recently ordered 12# with a mix of 5#, 2# and 1# bags - due in on the 12th. The flat-rate option was available, and I considered it but I opted for UPS because I will know *when* it will be delivered and is trackable. That is worth an addtional 2 bucks to me on a $60-odd order. FWIW - the only time I have received greens with damage to the shipping box and loss of product (albeit a small loss) was with Harvey.
