I love visiting Jammin' Java--played their open mic twice (the first
time in '04 as a single, was invited back in '05 as a Featured Artist
and brought my duo--we recorded our DVD there). Unfortunately, the
night I will be in town with nothing planned (Mon. Aug. 6), they will
be having a rock band instead of the open mic. Dang. Well, at least I
won't need to haul a guitar to DC for the week (will be visiting my
sis in Arlington and attending the DC Fountain Pen Supershow in
Tysons). I plan to visit Murky almost daily.
Coffee-based gigs this summer:
Fri. Aug. 17 I'll be at Common Cup Cafe, 1401 W. Morse in Chicago, as
half of the Madison-based male-female duo Andina & Rich. 2 sets, 7-9
pm. All tips and gate to the owner's monthly choice of community-
based charity.
Sat. Aug. 18, I'll be part of the all-female SASS! Trio at the
Downers Grove, IL Farmers Market from 8-11 am. (Dunno if anyone will
be selling beans there).
Fri. Aug. 24 Andina & Rich will be opening for Michael Smith (who
wrote "The Dutchman") at Acoustic Sounds Cafe in Little Rock, AR.
So if you're anywhere around those places stop by and say hi and I
promise to sing "Caffeine."
