Topic: Broken Rocky Needs A Home (32 lines)
1) From: Jerry Procopio
About 3 years ago I bought a used Rocky from a list member. I used it
daily for about six months before upgrading to a Mazzer. I recently
installed new burrs which have had less than 5# of coffee thru them.
During a coffee equipment cleanup I knocked Rocky off my garage work
table onto the carpeted concrete deck. Of course fate would have it,
the carpet provided no cushion and Rocky landed on it's plastic hopper,
completely demolishing the hopper.
I've searched online for parts and unfortunately, although the hopper is
available, when I trashed the hopper, I trashed all the broken plastic,
including the band that has the numbers on it(which I have not been able
to find online). I've decided, since Rocky is a "spare" grinder,I will
not sink any more money into it.
Tom has granted permission for me to advertise this to the list. If
someone wants this grinder for parts or wants to attempt repair, it's
yours for $50.00 plus shipping. I'll ship DHL Ground and shipping
should be around $10 - $12. If you are interested, send e-mail OFF LIST
to JavaJerry and we can discuss payment/shipment details.
By the way, the motor works and the grinder is otherwise functional. It
was just the upper hopper that was crushed. The motor and body,
including the doser was unharmed.
