Since I'm very new to the list, I thought I'd say hi, then scoot back =
into the shadows, while I crawl up the learning curve a bit. My one and =
only qualification (justification?) for being here is that I love =
coffee, always have, always will, and the more I learn about it and its =
culture, the happier I am. I also run a very small sundries shop (that =
includes some snacks, candy, pastries and coffee) in a Federal building =
here in Atlanta, under the auspices of the Business Enterprise Program =
for blind vendors. I am proud of my coffee offering, because I have the =
best in the building ...but better is better, and, recently, I have been =
contemplating roasting my own. A friend from another list suggested =
that I come here for information and succor, and told me that there are =
other blind coffee roasters here, which gives me hope. Whether or not I =
use this idea in my shop, I may use it for *me* ..and besides, like I =
said, the more I learn about the wonderful world of coffee, the more =
contented I am, so ...here I am, and back into the shadows I go.

Hello Shoshana,
I am one of the blind people on the list and I do roast my own.
Actually, I am only partially blind and can see using both my glasses
and a strong magnifying glass. I have an iRoast and have been happy
with it but if you are completely blind I would suggest a FreshRoast,
which is the roaster I started with. One knob to control time and you
can use your speaking timer to keep track of time.
Happy roasting and take care,
rdc

Q:	How many psychiatrists does it take to change a light bulb?
A:	Only one, but it takes a long time, and the light bulb has
	to really want to change.

Thanks, Robert ...I do have a little sight (very little), so the less I have
to actually *read* the better, although I can manage dials with magnifier
help, if they are clearly marked. I can tell that I'm going to have a *lot*
of fun ...Shoshana
