Just a quick note for some.
Coffee pot cleaners, the powders etc, many of them use sodium carbonate
as the active ingredient / main ingredient, and in many cases only
ingredient to clean the scale out.
you can read on the label, check msds for the product and with a little
creative research find out exactly what is in the stuff.
One such product called Brew Rite uses sodium carbonate.....
well an 8 ounce bottle cost close to 3 dollars in some places, you might
be able to get it for 2 dollars in other places.
The same ingredient is the active ingredient and ONLY ingredient in many
Pool Chemicals.
Aqua Chem Ph Increaser. It is 100% sodium carbonate and cost about 4
dollars for a 4 pound jug of it.
i have tried it and it works great, just as good as the more costly
stuff to clean my filters with ( there is no reason it wouldn't it's the
same identical stuff)
Just a way to save a few bucks on some of the necessities we need to do
our coffee right. Oh and before you go towards, well it's not as good
it will poison you... #1 Sodium carbonate in the concentrations you use
it, wont kill you #2 you rinse it off your filters when you are done
anyways, so it won't kill you and #3 you throw it in a swimming pool and
soak in it.... I don't think it will kill you.

yah im a cheap busserd and proud of it, a penny saved here and there is
a penny that can go towards more greens or eventually a hot top.
