Topic: Coffee on Route 66 (6 msgs / 85 lines)

Lots of diners, but only one "Java shop" that I saw on the route - it was
closed.... So we did the diners, with burghers, pie, milkshakes, and of
course coffee....
Here's my photo album - this is Illinois-66, only one of 8 states where you
find Route 66...http://homeroast.freeservers.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum/view_album/14821Cheers,

I grew up about 10 miles from Chenoa. Did you take any photos as you
passed through Pontiac? I don't know if that hamlet makes much of it's
Route 66 heritage, honestly, and I haven't been there since 1979...

I washed up in Austin, Texas after college at the UofI. 12 years later
folks from "back home" sound mighty odd, so I guess I'm from here now :D
We moved when I was a pre-teen, most of the kids I went to elementary
with don't live there now either. No reason to go back, no "old
stomping grounds". I could do with an occasional dose of cold weather
but we go to Angelfire or ColoSprings for that.

Monday mid-day....

Hopefully I'll be back in Austin for a visit sometime in the next year. I
was there first week of June, but only for 3 hrs with a vendor, then flew on
to Orlando...
Cheers,
Brett
