hi all - a fairly good article this am in the new york times. it
evokes a bit of myth, but is still better than 99.9% of all the other
coffee articles. now ... when will nyt do one on us (boo-hoo)

Tom,
While they don't include you in the article, the gist of it
is that others are out there helping and encouraging growers to
produce better coffee. If it works, at least you can expect more
decent lots of coffee to cup and select from in the future.

That might be true jim but then they also might try to pin the label
'gourmet' on their coffee and jack the prices a few bucks a pound...
hopefully that don't happen. I bet that the farms that produce the
really good stuff, (ie the stuff that tom and his competitors grab up)
has no problems selling at all to begin with... the words already out on
them.

Sounds like you don't buy millions of pounds enough to be included.
Intelligentsia bought 2 million pounds! I don't know what your yearly
amount is, but i know I have about 105 lbs of it.
