Topic: Nuova Simonelli Grinder - Thank You! (30 lines)

Thank you to all of you that replied. The stock hopper on the MDX-A
holds about 3 pounds of coffee beans. The thing is huge! Here is what
I have settled on to solve the huge hopper problem. I found that the
inside diameter of the hole where the hopper goes and the inside
diameter of my short hopper for my Mazzer Major are approximately the
same (probably within 1/16" of being the same). So I found an empty
plastic spice jar and used it to make a sleeve that fits inside the
bottom tube of the hopper and extends down into the hole in the top of
the grinder. It holds the hopper steady on top of the grinder and the
grinder now fits on the countertop under the cupboard. I will probably
replace the spice jar sleeve with a piece of PVC and tweak the fix a
little, but it is working for now. It only took a couple tries to get
the burrs dialed in for espresso. The grind looks even and clean. I
still need to grind onto a white plate so I can see if I am getting
clean grounds or dusty fines.
When I get my final version of the hopper mod installed, I will post a pic.
Thanks again everyone.
