Greetings,
Monday UPS showed up and my new Zassenhaus 169DG Deluxe grinder arrived. Its
a beauty!! I have another older Zass, a 151MA that I got off Ebay a year
ago and it can't hold a candle to this one. The burrs appear to be like new,
but the performance is lousy. It takes 3-4 minutes to grind 55 grams of
beans - the new one will do it in less than 2 minutes. No dust, a very
consistent grind. I also own two Armin Trossers and a German made PeDe
Dienes, The PeDe is the closest to the grinding performance and quality of
the new Zasss. I primarily brew with a Technivorm and an Aeropress. It's a
simple matter to adjust for these methods. I tighten the adjustment nut
till I can just hear the burrs touching for the AP. For the TV, I back them
off slightly till they just quit touching. I agree with SM's review, this
costs more than most of the other grinders, and it is well worth it.
Coffee makes life worth living.

Pat,
It's great to hear that the quality of the new Zass grinders seems to
be very good. Thanks for the report. I got a 169DG from Tom and Maria
a few years ago that works just fine, but I would love it even if I
never used it because it is so pretty.
