This is a multi-part message in MIME format.
Is the list still here?Well, it was my birthday last Thursday. Quite an =
uneventful day. Nothing from wife or 3 kids...no cards, no presents, =
nada but a phone call from son in the Air Force that I wasn't home to =
take. So I went to my local BJ's and bought myself a coffee related =
present and ordered a couple thru the internet. An internet item thru =
e-bay is a brand new Krups Moka maker. I then had a few e-mails with =
Les and bought a tamper from him that he just happened to make in my odd =
size *51MM) a couple of days before we talked. It was so new he didn't =
even have it listed on his sight yet. It took a few e-mails to verify =
the tamper size. It's an impreginated redwood that now on his gallery =
page says it's making it's home in Central New York. I can't wait for =
those gifts to myself to come. Ya, I kinda go overboard with gifts to =
myself, why not....don't get any from anyone anyhow.
Last Friday I also received my winning e-bay bid on a Bunn G1 grinder =
that looks and grinds like a brand new machine. I have tried it so far =
for French press (one of three), Bodum stove top vacuum unit, a =
technivorm, Aeropress and a beginners (Breville 800 ESXL) espresso =
machine. I still have the Bodum electric vacuum, an Bialetti Stainless =
moka pot, a good very drip machine, a Swiss Gold pour over, and yes an =
almost new stainless steel electric Perkulator. Also the new Krups Moka =
on the way. Don't give me no crap on using a Breville. It works great =
for my needs. I can't stand straight coffee or espresso, tried for =
years to drink them that way. At least it's a 15 bar unit with purge =
after each shot.
Since I bought my present at BJ's (can't say what as Tom does sell =
similiar but more expensive items and upgraded the Mastro to Virtuoso =
burrs and used the Bunn G1 (new over $800), my drinks have been ALOT =
smoother and a better tasteing. Even my wife notices that. =
Surprisingly the Bunn grinds as good or better than my upgraded Mastro =
and Proline grinders especially at the coarser settings. The Bunn seems =
to grind more uniform thereby extraction is a lot better.
Now I have to try and reread the posts on using a Krups Moka machine.
Loving my coffee,
George

Well, George, a belated Happy Birthday - enjoy your gifts to yourself!!
BTW - your wife is very lucky that you are sharing the resulting brew with
her... hmm, I probably
would have had some instant in the cabinet reserved... but that's me.

I believe I 'harassed" you for your birthday, but didn't send a "Happy"
greeting...My error...However did note the Air Force son reference...I have
one of those also..He is presently at McGuire....
Oh, and also A Happy Belated Birthday Wish to you.
