ok so right after you roast Vac seal individual servings, opening them
only right when you are going to roast? How would that work out?

Place a couple of day supply of roasted coffee beans into a glass container, install lid and place in deep
freeze. Works fine and does not require an endless of single use vacuum bags or an expensive bag
sucker, neither of which are free.

I think you have an excellent idea, Dennis. The sandwich Ziploks tend to
form one-way valves at the seal strip, and if you press them flat with a
washcloth pad as you seal the strip, you will have excluded a lot of air
from the beans.
As you put them under vacuum, the remaining air won't tend to pop the bags-
just slowly escape the zip seal. Atmospheric pressure will just tend to
press the zip strip closed, and the decomposing acid will still be
generating CO2. If you store the evac'd bags with the seal strip up, you
won't have to evacuate them again. They'll just fill with CO2 gas, which
slams the brakes on staling, caused by oxidation.

If pores are the only reason to not use a vaccuum sealer, I hear
loreal makes a great pore reducing liquid wash. Just keep em submerged
until ready to use, smaller pores and no o2!
