Topic: la Pavoni mystery machine (2 msgs / 45 lines)
1) From: Bill Morgan
I just scored a (VERY) used la Pavoni machine of unknown vintage. It's not
a lever machine, just a basic 3-switch and steam knob home device.
la Pavoni's web site includes pictures of it in their historic gallery, but
no other information I can find. I've posted those pictures athttp://web.mac.com/bilmor/iWeb/Site/laPavoni.htmlAnyone recognize this creature?
It's really, really filthy, so I'm going to pass my time cleaning for a
while. I have some Urnex Cleancaf; that's the correct cleaner/descaler for
such a machine, right? I'm sure it's gross above the shower screen, but I'm
reluctant to unscrew that for fear of gasket issues trying to reassemble.
I'll probably need a new group gasket anyway, once I figure out what to
order (and from whom.) Any tips on going in? It basically works, heats and
pumps anyway, but the pump is very, very loud.
Thanks for any light you can shed.
Bill

It's a Lusso. If you google for it, you'll find some other equipment
vendors selling it, and a couple of them have very useful information
about it. I don't know anything about the machine, but new ones seem
to retail for about $500.
Taking down those machines can be a bit of work, but if you like to
tinker it's fun. Let us know what you learn and we can help you from
there.
