Not one to toss good coffees yesterday made up a bunch of those Little sized
for per small Press Pot brewing pre-ground vac bags I keep in the freezer
for Debi to take to work. These were from the last espresso blend
development sessions, all about two weeks out just kept valve bagged. When
not enough left of one rather than toss set aside then mixed 'em all. Turned
out to total about 1/2# greens worth post roast (didn't weigh them, going by
volume in mason jar.) Tossed the vac sealed jar in the freezer. This morning
pulled a shot. Superb thick smooth persistent reddish brown crema, excellent
mouthfeel. Bit of bite on the attack from the Aged Sumatra, deep rich dark
chocolate with very good though indistinct acidity, very good linger as I
type, overall very pleasing long ristretto or short normale pull. (double
basket 2oz in 27sec ~201f) Would make an excellent cap' but drank it
straight.
FWIW the blend is comprised of specific amount unknowns but less than 18gr
each:
Monsooned Malabar, Aged Sumatra, Sumatra Lintong, Sumatra Gayo, Brazil
Cachoeira YB LFC, Brazil YB FC+, Rwanda Migongo Bourbon, Kenya Kariani, El
Salvador Pulp Natural, Panama Maunier, Quatemala Blue Quetzal Bourbon,
Yirgacheffe Kochere WP and Yirgacheffe IMV DP.
Damn if this wouldn't make an excellent "house" espresso blend! Of course I
have a suspision shot to shot may not be too consistnet taste with 13
different beans:-)

I call that my House Blend.

Aftermath is a pretty good name for a blend too, especially if you market it
as a hangover remedy!
