Topic: Keeping the chaff from burning (2 msgs / 44 lines)
1) From: Floyd Lozano
Howdy,
I am thinking about my roasting setup, and I have a problem I'd like to
solve if I can. I use the RK drum in a bbq grill, and I am worried that the
chaff that's coming off the roast is burning and smoking my coffee
somewhat. I use a steel sheet as a heat diffuser, and that's where the
chaff lands and blackens during the roast. Should I just not worry about
it, or does anyone have a suggestion to keep this from being an issue? I've
thought about tipping the steel sheet at about a 30 degree angle and have
the chaff just slide forward as its being kicked off, but haven't tried that
yet (or removing the sheet and letting it fall beneath the flames)

Hi Floyd,
I just vac out the grill after about 3-5 roasts I don't have a plate
just the V's over the burners
I haven't had any problems and my coffee tastes fine!
