Hi all - I made a page of single bean images of different varietals and different process coffees:http://www.sweetmarias.com/SingleBeanMacros_Varietals/SingleBeanMacros_Varietals.htmlTom -- "Great coffee comes from tiny roasters" Sweet Maria's Home Coffee Roasting - Tom & Maria http://www.sweetmarias.com Thompson Owen george_at_sweetmarias.com Sweet Maria's Coffee - 1115 21st Street, Oakland, CA 94607 - USA phone/fax: 888 876 5917 - tom_at_sweetmarias.com

The detail and clarity is quite surprising. I look forward to seeing some Zanzibar coffee up close and personal.
Maybe it's just me but ... The Kona Typica seems to have the best smile; The *monsooned india arabica* seems to be chuckling; The *india robusta peaberry* seems to be the most sad; The *india wet-process robusta* looks most ready to give a kiss; The *Sumatra Aged* appears to be making a wisecrack; The *Australia Mundo Novo* thinks it was a funny crack; The *Parchment Coffee* hides his feelings; The *Sumatra Semi-Washed* is groaning over this whole email; and The *Ethiopia Djimma Longeberry* isn't sure what to think... Thanks Tom! You had to figure I would bring some perspective... Brett On 10/17/07, Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee wrote: <Snip> -- Cheers, Bretthttp://homeroast.freeservers.com

"The Ethiopia Djimma Longeberry isn't sure what to think..." I dunno, Brett. This one is either biting his lip and wondering what this whole photo shoot is about or if forming a word that begins with the letter "F." Hmm, can we expect some of these? Another liberica perhaps? On 10/17/07, Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee wrote: <Snip>
Wow, great shots... did you get a new toy (with a macro?)? Brian On 10/17/07, Tom & Maria - Sweet Maria's Coffee wrote: <Snip>
Hey Tom! Do I win the Prize? You have the Pacamara and Pacamara Peaberry labeled backwards. When are we going to see an offering of the Zanzibar Liberica? Les On 10/17/07, Brian Kamnetz wrote: <Snip>

With my warped sense of humor, the page of beans reminded me of the emotions poster with all the different emotional facial expressions.http://homepage.smc.edu/harrop_adrianne/images/Emotions.JPGCoffee beans are all like little children anyway, right? Except that we put them in a 450F+ roaster. Pix were awesome. ********************* Ed Needham "to absurdity and beyond!"http://www.homeroaster.com*********************

"...did you get a new toy (with a macro?" And, it looks like they're lighted by the Medical Nikor flash? One doesn't have to get a whole new toy just to do macro shots. I have a 58mm macro Topcor lens and bellows that allows me to fill the 35mm frame with a single celery seed. My Air Force tours in the Philippines and SEA were magic. Just let me read about the cool rainy/ snowy baseball games- maybe in the Manila Times or the Bangkok Post. I didn't know it at the time, but there's coffee in them there latitudes. Do I fancy I could find better coffee? Heck, no- but it would be fun snooping around after 40 years. Cheers, Mabuhay -RayO, aka Opa! It was Magic. All I need is a reason and train fare!
