In Cincinnati yesterday to celebrate my dad's birthday. Returned to =
Columbus early this morning to arrive at work by 9 am. I have been =
roasting since May and enjoying every cup. I always take some fresh =
ground coffee to work for an afternoon cup of refreshment, but I did not =
today due to my travel schedule. I went to starbucks not far from the =
shop and purchased a Grande 100% Columbian, black. This was" the Choice =
of the day, fresh brewed" explained the young lady behind the counter. =
I asked if it was a dark roast or a lite roast. She said it was a =
lesser roast on the bean than some others they have in the store. This =
was perhaps the worst tasting cup I can remember. It was bitter, thick, =
tasted like they used carbonized Columbian with not enough water. I =
returned from my car and demanded my money back explaining this cup of =
coffee was only good for patching the pot holes in the parking lot! =
She returned my $1.85 without question!
Have I reached Coffee Snob status? Hope so!

I went to the *$ next to Nationwide Arena (downtown Columbus) in the early
AM (helping set up for a race event) and asked for a cup of their lightest
roasted brew. SHE said "If it's too strong, you can put some more water
in it". She had absolutely NO clue what a "light roast" meant. But
then, I was in Charbuck's!

Mike,
Ouch, on the 50 demerits. I have learned my lesson.
