I just went to our local francise coffee shop and got my first =
cappuccino since my trip to NYC a few weeks ago. While there I went to =
Gimme Coffee and 9th St Espresso and had the best caps I've ever had =
with the pretty art and all. Well, I'm not in NYC anymore!! There was no =
love in my cap, no banging, tamping, knocking......just the push of a =
button and voila! Oh, the guy did steam the milk himself and pour it in =
the cup. And he's not some teenager, he's the owner! I'm drinking it =
now and all I taste is milk (I know there's espresso in there somewhere) =
AND I burnt my tongue! Overall not a real good experience, except I =
bought a good scone there.

Will this be the home of your new roaster?

JoeR,
You didn't miss anything. Until finally getting the purchase contract =
signed
yesterday hadn't given the address. Been negotiating the deal since June =
and
while wanted it kept actively looking at other locations. Now we'll quit
looking at locations except for future planning for second café =
location
'round year 2 or 3.
Yes, though café is relatively small plans are to install the roaster =
in the
café. One of the reasons we went the with smaller 8# max capacity USRC =
for
our first roaster.

Kongratulations on klosing the deal, MiKe, that must be exciting. I'll have
to plan a roadtrip down from Seattle sometime soon. I was in the wrong
Vancouver last weekend!
Is your roaster quiet enough that you can roast during business hours, with
customers in the shop? Or is it there simply for them to admire. I enjoy
seeing roasters in shops but have never seen them operating; possibly it's
just too disruptive to business

According to Yahoo Maps, only 2802 miles from here, a mere 41 hours of
driving. I too will drop by as often as I can. Seriously, I would love
to visit your shop, and hope to be able to do so sometime.
In the meantime, I have emailed a colleague in Kentucky who is from
Portland and invited him to send the address etc to anyone he knows in
your area who might be interested in coffee. Hope it converts to a
couple regular customers for you.

Yeah, I got my sneakers on, piled on the overcoat, thought about packing a
lunch.. went in the kitchen, thought.. hey, I need a coffee... decided to
make some chicken and sausage cacciatore.. figured, I better start some
bread.. heck, the bread won't be ready to bake til tomorrow....
so you have the head start...
Besides, I couldn't pack enough roasted coffee in a backpack for the walk.
