Topic: Coffee-istas in the Los Angeles area? (12 msgs / 168 lines)
1) From: Frank Parth
I've been exchanged some e-mails with a couple of local list members in Los Angeles. We got to wondering how many
listers are down here. I'm in south Orange County, Michael Holland is in Altadena, I think Roger Lebow is in Sierra
Madre and Brett Mason is down in my neck of the woods.
Who else? Do we have enough people to get together?

Brett moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa ... but his son is in Orange...

I am a lurker that sits and reads interesting subjects. I am located in
Lake View Terrace and work in Pasadena.

Thanks, Brett. Not the first time I've had bad data. Maybe not even the first time today

And if on the right day I would drive up from San Diego for the fun of it.

Hi, Dave,
I'm actually down in Mission Viejo, so I'm a ways south of you. I'm about halfway between downtown LA and San Diego.

Aloha, other SoCal'ers--
Yup, as Frank mentioned, I'm in the Pasadena area, as is Mike Holland
(Altadena). By my reckoning, if we triangulated--and Mike & could
carpool, a most un-SoCal activity--we could meet at Diedrich's in the
Orange circle (of course a mere shadow of its former self since the
place was sold; we could also meet at Kean in Costa Mesa, but that's
even farther away for us).
Actually, the most "real" coffee experiences in the area (meaning the
real coffee roasters) are Jones Coffee Roasters in Pasadena and the
Conservatory for Coffee in Culver City. But I'll travel for a good
hang!
NOBODY from the Westside?! That's weird...

This place was reviewed in the OC Register a few months ago. It
sounded like it could have potential.http://www.kaffainc.com/index.htmlI'd forgotten about it. But apparently they roast their coffee, and
the baristas know enough to be able to produce latte art.It might be a
good place for a first meeting.
I'll have to drop in sometime.
