Topic: Coffee for my trip (25 lines)
1) From: JoAnne Phillips
When I left for Philadelphia and my 60th glass reunion I decided to
take Tom's advice and grind here at home and put it into a tight
jar. I did that, also took my AP and my creamer and splenda (yes I
like my coffee that way). I have to agree with Tom. For a short
visit (I was gone a total of six days - two spent on airplanes) this
is satisfactory. Not as good as freshly ground, but then I didn't
expect it to be. I had taken along several of the smaller valve bags
from SM with coffee for friends and had a couple of cups from that as
I took my AP visiting with me. So I had a chance to compare. All in
all, this is a viable thing to do for a short time. It makes cleanup
almost a non event as you are not scattering grounds at all. I would
definitely do it again. Thanks Tom.
I'm sure glad to be home though and the Kenya Karatina I roasted
before leaving was absolutely wonderful when I got back. I've never
left it to "rest" that long before. I guess I need to re-think my
resting schedule and be less impatient.
