Topic: Bottom of the Jar Blend (15 msgs / 339 lines)
1) From: Eddie Dove
This morning, three of the mason jars were low; none had enough to
brew a full pot. So, I mixed them and the coffee was DELICIOUS!
Worked out to be approximately:
20% Cameroon Caplami Java
40% Columbia Supremo 15943
40% Mexico Organic Nayarit Terruno (Melange)
Silky body to boot!
Have you hit one like that?
Have a great week!

Do NOT use my posts to troll.
There was no reason to bring that reference into this thread.
I am here on this list to talk about coffee; it is a coffee list.
This mailing list has been indispensable to me and the people on this
list have helped me tremendously over the last year to learn all
things coffee. This evokes within me a sense of commitment and
obligation to return such a favor, which is why I do my best to
respect this mailing list, it's host, it's members and it's mission.
This medium of communication, text, while convenient, is devoid of all
other verbal and non-verbal cues. Inasmuch, one should understand
that others may not get the intended message that you "meant,"
especially considering the fact that you are new to the list; nobody
knows you or your personality and certainly cannot hear your voice
inflection.
Yes, you did hit a nerve with Ms. Quinn. She is a lady that has more
courage and courage of conviction than most people I know; she has
called an "all-stop" to a bad situation and moved half way across the
country to make a better life for herself and her young son, whom she
dearly loves. Regardless of those facts, one should be respectful and
kind to others and leave a little room for grace for those struggles
that each of us have. One should know that one does not know.
The rules for this mailing list can be referenced here:
A treatise on mailing list etiquette can be referenced here:
If you wish to discuss coffee and be respectful of others, then you
are welcome here.
Now, let's talk coffee.
Respectfully,
Eddie

Julie,
A testament to how good your coffee must be -- you only need 90% in the blend to achieve outstanding taste. Must save you some $$, to boot.

I tried one of those the other day. Lets just say sometimes it works, and
sometimes it doesn't =) Too bad I didn't realize it before I left the

Eddie,
I keep a ziplock bowl on my roasting shelf, and when I roast with my totally
tricked out Popper1 (has anyone heard from Doug Strait lately??), I roast by
weight, 175 to 200 grams. I always end up with some leftovers that are under
150 grams. So I collect them in the ziplock bowl with a tag of 'tails'.
After I collect up a pound I roast everything to a Full City+ in my Turbo
Oven / Stir Crazy or more recently my new Bread Machine / Heat Gun combo.
Some batches are just pretty good. The last batch was out of this world.
I've been drinking a bunch of DP Ethiopians and Centrals. I started doing
this for the coffee that I take to my work place a couple of years ago. I
donate a coffee maker, and a common blade grinder and it's pretty
interesting (to me anyways) watching peoples reactions... This morning I
took in some fresh roasted decaf that got people "thinking" (and acting)
like it was some high octane caffeinated wonder brew. I thought it just
tasted OK, and I still felt like I needed a little nap ;-)

My god what on earth is going on with you? I posted nothing twice. You brought it back with your own post Jim. I simply made a comment, no need to let your blue black feathers fly all over the place. You most likely need all you have to stay warm with winter coming!
Hold on and consider what you wrote; as you fly around in a rage today watch out for the Windex!!
