Topic: RR45 tamper (2 msgs / 35 lines)
1) From: Allon Stern
I have an old RR45 I bought at a pawn shop for $99 about 15 years
back; it is missing a few parts, but does a fine job. I figure its
high time I replaced the burrs; its also missing the gate and tray,
which I'll probably also replace.
The unit is also missing the tamper assembly. Is the built in tamper
worthwhile at all? Fixed or spring loaded? Thoughts?
Someday I'll get myself a nice espresso machine. Current rig is a
Krups espresso novo 2000 purchased as an open box for $50.

The first thing I did with my Macap M5 was to remove that stupid
tamper. It just gets in the way.
