I believe Cory Corp decided vacuum pots sucked years ago. My father's
company used to sell them and I think I used to have the last of them
and that was back in the late 60s. They made a stainless steel
commercial model for a while also.

Follow this link for Manufacturers, scroll down, you'll find Cory Coffee
Company listed, and links to show their products... But long out of
business... Fun to see their stuff! Wish they were still here...http://baharris.org/coffee/Manufacturers.htmBrett

Are there different sizes of Cory rods? If there are different sizes,
do all of them work with the Yama?
Thanks,
Brian

Brian,
I believe they are all the same size. My wife got a couple of them
off of ebay for me as Christmas presents last year to go along with
the Yama. Works great.

I have one Cory rod which is stamped "Cory Rod". It is about 5 3/4" in
length. Another Cory rod is stamped "New Cory Rod". It is about 6 1/4"
in length and is slightly slimmer in diameter.
I have a Cona rod which is about 4 7/8" in length. They all seem to
work equally well in the Yamas. I think anything you can get off of
ebay will work fine.

That's correct; I have one of each type rod. I've only used them in a Silex
pyrex vac pot and both rods work equally well in it.
cheers,
Scott

Mine has "CORY FILTER ROD" stamped on it and the box reads "COPYRIGHT 1945-6."
I chuckled when I read the box, "Fits most all glass coffee brewers."
& "Modernize your glass coffee brewer with the CORY Glass Filter Rod"
Huh ... I'm modernized with something from 1945!

I used to have a collection of Cory and Silex glass filter rods. I
broke so darn many tops and bought so many pots (back in the 60s you could
buy a Silex at your local Cranks for about 7 bucks...Corys were a little
more) that I had a small box filled with extra bottoms and rods. My wife
thought they were junk taking up too much space, so they went to goodwill. I
was notified after the fact! One mans junk is another mans treasure. Hope
they all found good homes:-) Josh
