They did an amazing job of decorating the chow hall tonight - rib eye,
lobster - Ice carvings and a million types of desert and of course
cake! It was really great.
Every year we have a cake cutting ceremony we read General Lejeune's
birthday message and cut the cake - the guest of honor, and the
youngest and oldest Marines present get the first piece...
The Master Gunnery Sergeant was born in 1956...the Private First Class
was born in 1988...1988! I signed my contracts to become a Marine
that year. I turn 40 next week and am feeling every bit of it now!
But I love all of our traditions, it really is great, and makes me
love being a Marine despite being gone - a lot.
Take care all and thanks for the thanks and thoughts!
