Heating coils were warped. Replacements on the way. Previous post citing
death of the roaster was premature. There was a small bean (Yemen Sana
'ani)that caused the ejection door to stick open causing minor spillage
about halfway through the roast. Then the drum stopped rotating.
Probably not so small beans jamming the drum. No motor damage as far as
I've been able to tell. I have roasted some larger beans with success
since then.
The screams of anguish from the people I roast for have turned to sighs
of relief. As for me, I had one more days coffee left.
This could have been ugly.
Bob
