I went for the ridgeline made with the world famous Oregon Myrtle wood. Its
the only place it grows and to make it more special the craftsman (Les)
lives near by where it grows. Plus I have spent a ton of time in all parts
of Oregon especially the Burns area. Every time I hold the tamper will be
filled with all kinds of memories. I am waiting for mine to arrive and will
let you know as soon as I get a chance to pull a few shots. Right now I
blame all of my channeling on the fact that my tamper is the one on the
grinder and is just a touch small for my basket.

Because when the same tree grows in California (which it does), it
can't possibly be an Oregon Myrtle tree, can it?;-)

Dave,
Except for Del Norte County in California, (borders Oregon), the Myrtlewood
subspecies are only a shrub. The only place Myrtlewood grows into trees big
enough for lumber is in Coos County, Curry County, Douglas County (where I
live), and Del Norte County in N. California. The Myrtlewood in Israel is a
shrub too.
