Topic: OT - Behmor for cocoa bean roasting (26 lines)
1) From: Michael Rasmussen
There were requests that I report on how the Behmor worked for cocoa bean roasting.
In a word: Fantastic. We loaded up the drum with two pounds of Mexican (Tobasco)
cocoa beans and went with a P2 profile. Where there were audible cracks and an
aroma like baking brownies we hit the cool button.
Unfortunately having fresh chocolate in the house presents much more temptation
than having freshly roasted coffee.
Visit the Chocolate Alchemist site for more information.
I'm finding making chocolate a great contrast to roasting coffee. It takes a
couple of days of processing to get the chocolate ready for consumption. By
comparison coffee is instant gratification.
