I know miKe has tried putting coffee beans in with the wood pellets on his
Traeger cooker so he could probably give us an idea of what the result was,
but my best guess would be that it would be bad. Imagine roasting coffee
past third crack to where the beans catch fire. This produces a very acrid
smoke. Now imagine the flavor and aroma of that acrid smoke being added to
the taste of a piece of meat. It does not sound very appetizing. IMHO.

Indeed back prior to PNWGII I experimented with attempting to capture the
wonderful fragrance of 1st crack development mixing small qty pre-"tanned"
greens with Oak pellets for the Traeger. Not possible of course, 3rd crack
and beyond smells predominate.
