Chris, you just hit on another passion of mine, single malt scotch, and =
Kentucky bourbon (single barrel, small batch, and all the rest)! I never =
met a bourbon I didn't like, but some more so than others! Back in April =
of "05, I had the chance to visit for several hours and drink shots with =
the Master Distiller for Evan Williams Single Barrel and all the other =
Heaven Hill bourbons, Parker Beam! yes, part of the Jim Beam family! He =
even autographed a bottle for me! I've also got a chance to meet Jim =
Beam's grandson Booker Noe at his home, Jim Beam's house, and have him =
sign a bottle of small batch BOOKER bourbon. Sadly, he's since passed =
on! I've also met Booker's son, Fred Noe, who lives next door. I've had =
a book and several bottles signed during the several times I've met him. =
I've had a bottle of FOUR ROSES Sinlge Barrel signed by Master Distiller =
Jim Rutludge at the distillery the first day it was released during the =
Bourbon Festival. FOUR ROSES sponsors the saturday night entertainment =
for the Festival, The Kentucky Headhunters( 91 CMA band of the year ), =
Jim always introduces the band, and later gets up and sings a song with =
them! Let's see..... Bill Samuels Jr. president and CEO of MAKER'S MARK =
and their Master Distiller Dave Pickerell. Although I never have met =
him, the visitor's center at Jim Beam had a bottle of BAKER"S Small =
Batch signed by Baker Beam who is older and lives near by. The notables =
in the bourbon industry are wonderful people and great ambassadors of =
their craft! The Bourbon capital of the world, Bardstown, Kentucky is a =
wonderful place and hosts the Kentucky Bourbon Festival every year. =
Visit anytime of the year if you can. In '04, The Kentucky Headhunters, =
who my wife and I know well, let me video tape their show which was =
fantastic, a great band! If any of you would like a DVD copy, I'd be =
glad to make one for you, free of charge! Just contact me off list with =
your snail mail address. Sorry about the long ramble!
regards, PAUL CARDER

Thx, Paul. I did get the DVD today. I've only had a chance to glance at it
for a couple of minutes (I am at work), but will watch it in its entirety at
home. From what I've seen, it is pretty good.
Again, thx, Frank
