Often, when "short" posts are rejected as oversized, it is because the
post is a "reply", which often includes many previous posts, which all
add up to a very long post. Not saying that was definitely your
problem; could have been something else in your case.

Quoted messages were my first guess, but, as you suspected, that was not my problem. My next guess was bloating of the file because of html formatting. However, many on this list appear to post in html without difficulty. My current suspect is html plus an embedded font. I suspect that Outlook, seeing that I like Calibri and knowing that not everyone will have it, decides to embed the entire font in the message. If anyone can verify this, I would appreciate knowing.
