That's an interesting article.  I know the arduino microcontroller sells for
something in the $30 range (www.adafruit.com), so it's cheaper than a lot of
PID controllers out there.  It can do a lot more than a plain PID as well.
In the back of my deranged mind, there has been a thought rattling around
about an arduino controlled roaster, but it will have to wait until I can
scrounge enough parts.
