If you haven't tried the India Mallali Estate tree-dried beans yet, I strongly suggest doing so. In fact, I'm not hitting 'send' on this until I've ordered some more, just in case :) I roasted some to FC+ this morning, and just tried a cup. I made a double-shot and turned it into an americana with another 2.5 oz of hot water. It's creamy, and has an incredible balance. Heresy perhaps, but I think it's better than the Aida. loydb -- Make a small loan, Make a big difference - Kiva.org
Lloyd, The Malalai is great stuff. I wouldn't call it better than the Aida, just different. I would have to agree with you that it is one of the best if not the best DP coffee I have had. That said, I just love a good India coffee. I don't usually compare DP coffee to washed coffee as in my book they are just too different. I tend to like washed coffees more than Dry Processed so I would have to disagree with you,and Aida will continue to occupy my number one position. Isn't it a good thing that we don't all like the same thing? Les On Dec 6, 2007 1:10 PM, Loyd Blankenship wrote: <Snip>
Great to know! I have I think 2 lbs in the stash and haven't tried any yet, but now I am thinking I will go and roast some right now! I have been thinking to myself that I will really enjoy this one anyway, just from the description, and then you helped verify it for me! Can't wait to roast and try some. -Bry Bryan Wray NaDean's Coffee Place/ Dino's Coffee Lounge Kalamazoo, MI "It is my hope that people realize that coffee is more than just a caffeine delivery service, it can be a culinary art"- Chris Owens. --------------------------------- Never miss a thing. Loyd Blankenship wrote: <Snip> I've been drinking that this past week myself. Yep, a darn right nice cup of java. I think my first roast hit the sweet spot better, but still great. I did think about ordering more of it with this last order, but there were just too many I wanted to try. Actually, I broke down and ordered some IMV, for the first time. Box just arrived today, I may have to roast some of that up soon, like tomorrow. :) Definitely by Saturday. So many beans, so little time! -- Rick Copplehttp://www.rlcopple.com/
