Subject would be... Yet Another Behmor I just broke down and ordered a Behmor. I've been roasting with an unmodified popper. I've been planning to build a controller similar to MiKe's frankenformer, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I was deciding if I should go out in the windy cold to roast tonight, or save the little I have left for the morning. Decided "the heck with it" I'm gonna order one of these sooner or later, it might as well be now. Then I'll be able to roast in the kitchen. Yea! I added some coffee to the order like I really needed that;-) let's see... Australia Mountain Estate Hawaii Kona - Greenwell Extra Fancy, that just arrived Bali Kintamani Arabica and something else I don't remember;-) That and the sampler that comes with the roaster, will put me around 70 lbs. As the only coffee drinker, that will last me awhile. I'm REALLY looking forward to this roaster! -- Dave Some days... It's just not worth chewing through the leather straps
Congratulations, Dave and I hope you really enjoy that roaster. Good coffee choices too! Keep us posted on your results ... I'm hoping for one for Christmas. It was at the top of my list, and everyone has been telling my mother that I really NEED one. Maybe that will help...we'll have to see. :) Sheila Dave wrote: <Snip>
I didn't get the Behmor.... (I hope that you guys do...) I went to the Sale and Clearance Items page, and bought that old Nuovo Simonelli Oscar espresso machine... It's been used for a few cups, and now it is on its way to Iowa... I am sure it will find a good home here - frankly, I can't wait! So I roasted 2lb in a popper tonight. It took about 7 loads, each one precisely at 160gm, and each one taken to the first outlier of 2nd crack... Brazil at C+ ... If the stars align, then next week will be a new, incredible espresso experience at my place... or at least the painful start... Congrats you Behmor owners! Hiya Dave, This is a newby here, wishin ya well. I bought a Behmor and have been quite pleased with it; If you are half as happy with the predictable performance as I have been, you'll be a happy camper. Best Regards, Ken.
I dropped a couple hints, but didn't get a nibble as to what roaster, or what it would cost, so I bought it for myself:-) -- Dave Some days... It's just not worth chewing through the leather straps On Dec 11, 2007 6:51 PM, Sheila Quinn wrote: <Snip>
I've really wanted to be able to do 1/2 lb at a time... 100g in my popper just needs to be done too often. -- Dave Some days... It's just not worth chewing through the leather straps On Dec 11, 2007 8:06 PM, Ken Schillinger wrote: <Snip>
Well, I've done more than hint. I've almost gotten to the point of begging like a little kid. ;) Sheila Dave wrote: <Snip>
Well, I sent my hubby a couple of suggestions, links to products I want, and he said, don't you want that new coffee roaster? I said, oh no, not for Christmas, I'm saving up for that myself and will get it next year (mm-hmm). Then, I told him that I have a big old wish list all filled out on Amazon.com, it's basically the same one I've had there for 3 or 4 years and I still want all that stuff. He said, what about your wishlist at Sweet Maria's? Now, my heart is pumping, my eyes are wide, I'm daydreaming about my new Behmor, I'm hoping Santa does come through. -Bonnie On Dec 12, 2007 6:38 AM, Sheila Quinn wrote: <Snip>
"that will last me awhile". Yeah, but what about all the new and wonderful beans he gets in in the mean time.;>) On 12/11/07, Dave wrote: <Snip> -- Frank "Still the one"
That's been a problem;-) I keep saying I need to give more coffee away, so I can try more beans. With the Behmor and being able to roast more at a time. I'll be more willing to give more away. -- Dave Some days... It's just not worth chewing through the leather straps On Dec 12, 2007 9:21 AM, Frank Awbrey wrote: <Snip>
You may want to drop a hint about the shipping suggestions on the SM site so you unwrap it on the big day, and not a week later =) -F On 12/12/07, Bonnie Polkinghorn wrote: <Snip>
Good suggestion Floyd, but I have to be tactful about it. Let's see.... darling, I better put in my order for your brother's aeropress and our special greens by the 17th so they arrive in time, and did you know that our buddies at SM have a cool UPS time in transit map and a calendar to remind you what day of the week you need to order by to receive your order on time? OK, that's tacky, I'll have to think of something though! How about ... loud screaming in the middle of dinner - OH NO>>> I just remembered, I need to go order your brother's aeropress from SM, I need to order before the 17th to get it here on time, be right back.... I believe... -Bonnie One advantage of being in the West Coast delivery zone On Dec 12, 2007 9:51 AM, Floyd Lozano wrote: <Snip>
I need another roaster like I need a third armpit. However, to entice my daughter to buy a Behmor. I offered her the deal of her ordering one. Using it with the 8 lbs of free coffee and then if she didn't like it she could send it to me and I would refund her money. I was actually hopping she would not like it. Looks like I have to play poker this week and try to convince my wife that we still need another roaster. My reasoning will have to be if we ever move back to the mainland I can roast indoors with this one in the winter. On Dec 12, 2007 8:13 AM, Bonnie Polkinghorn wrote: <Snip>
